Avrumi, 21, is from Manchester, England. When he was 18, Avrumi was diagnosed with leukemia and attended Camp Simcha, Chai Lifeline’s world-renowned summer program for children with serious illnesses.
Avrumi was so inspired by his transformational experience as a Camp Simcha camper that he decided to return as a counselor and pay it forward to other children in need.
“My time at Camp Simcha was so amazing that I really wanted to give back that experience I received,” he said. “It’s so comforting to be in an environment like Camp Simcha, where you are able to share experiences with people who really understand what you are going t through.”
