Libby, from Woodmere, NY, is a bubbly eight-year-old who loves to paint, practice karate and “annoy her brothers,” according to her mom. When she grows up, she wants to be an artist and a teacher.
At age three, Libby was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a rare form of pediatric cancer. After 18 months of treatment in her native Sydney, Australia, Libby relapsed and together with her parents and three older brothers moved to the U.S. to receive lifesaving treatment. Her Chai Lifeline case manager was instrumental in helping Libby's family with the move and navigate the complex medical insurance process.
Libby has attended Camp Simcha for the past three summers and her brothers have participated in the local 5 Towns i-Shine afterschool program for siblings, and they all love the Chai Lifeline Chanukah parties and gifts. “The support we received from Chai Lifeline is immeasurable,” says Libby’s mom. “How can one measure saving our daughter’s life?”
