Meet Ilan

View more warriors Next Warrior

Ilan is 14 and lives in Riverdale, New York. His favorite subject in school is math and he enjoys engaging in extracurriculars such as debate team. In June 2016, Ilan was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Chai Lifeline's dedicated caseworkers and volunteers responded and came to visit Ilan while he was in the hospital for treatment. Ilan has been attending Camp Simcha for the past three summers and regularly attends Chai Lifeline Shabbatons during the year. He also enjoys sprinting and has participated at the Miami Half-Marathon as part of Team Lifeline in the past.

"Chai Lifeline and Camp Simcha encourage kids to just be kids, to be strong and to be the best person you can be," said Ilan. "They help you discover the strength you have in yourself. Being around kids going through the same things you are is very empowering."
