Meet Harlow

Harlow, a vibrant nine-year-old from Delray Beach, Florida, was diagnosed with leukemia at just 17 months old. Her battle began with an intensive week at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital in Hollywood, Florida, where Chai Lifeline immediately became an unwavering source of support for her and her family.

The Chai Lifeline Southeast team became regular visitors, bringing not just toys and games, but also birthday celebrations and comforting meals directly to Harlow's side. “Chai Lifeline was relentless with love and delivering hope,” recalls Harlow’s mother, Aimee. “Young volunteers would visit, always cheery and uplifting, helping Harlow forget what was going on and providing us with much-needed respite."

Harlow's medical journey led the Greenberg family to discover Camp Simcha, Chai Lifeline's renowned summer program for children with cancer and other medical challenges. After spending a transformative summer there, Harlow now sets her sights on attending a mainstream sleepaway camp, emboldened by her experiences and her time at Camp Simcha.

Chai Lifeline maintains their relationship with the Greenbergs, having most recently enjoyed a Chai Lifeline Southeast family ice-skating event together. The Greenberg family expresses deep gratitude for the continuous support provided by Chai Lifeline. “From the moment of diagnosis throughout treatment, they remained a constant presence,” shares Aimee. “Chai Lifeline was the light in those dark times.”
