The i-Shine Coordinator will help with the weekly planning and preparations for the Los Angeles-based groups. The coordinator will also be onsite to run the i-Shine groups during evening hours each week. Every day will bring new challenges, learning experiences, and opportunities to make a difference in the lives of the children and families we support. One year minimum commitment required.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Develop a thorough understanding of i-Shine and how it impacts children and families
- Provide ideas for projects and activities for i-Shine groups
- Assist the I-Shine Manager in managing all aspects of the plan
- Aid in the recruitment and interviewing of potential volunteers
- Develop & maintain relationships with key partners, including host schools, volunteers, etc.
- Interface with parents, children, volunteers and partners as needed
- Assist with coordinating and managing all logistical aspects of each i-Shine event
- Attend and run each i-Shine event
- Provide weekly updates on each program, the volunteers, and participants
- Bring creative ideas and resources to the growth of i-Shine on the West Coast
- Assist in ad hoc assignments
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent College degree in Psychology, Education, Child Life, or related field preferred
Experience:
1 year preferred

- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Ability to connect well with children and teens
- Highly motivated with the ability to work in a collaborative team environment and independently
- Availability to work evenings, as all i-Shine events are, by definition “after school hours"
SCHEDULE:
- Per Diem, Approximately 15 hours per week. Required to work evenings, as all i-Shine events are after school hours
