i-Shine Teaneck is a unique afterschool program for children living with illness or loss in their homes. It's an environment filled with laughter, learning, and friendship where children who feel challenged in other circumstances have the opportunity to truly shine.
i-Shine Teaneck meets on Mondays and Wednesdays throughout the school year from 4:45 PM through 6:30 PM. We have high school seniors as volunteers who provide mentoring, homework assistance, supervised games, activities, and other age-appropriate programs that encourage fun, interaction, and friendship. is supervised by adults who are parents, teachers, and have lots of experience working with children. Transportation is provided from local schools and homes to the i-Shine facility and then back to the child's home.
i-Shine is available free of charge to preschool, elementary, and middle school children whose lives have been impacted by illness or loss of a sibling or parent.
