Chai Lifeline Executive VP Among Algemeiner’s Top 100 People Impacting Jewish Life

Rabbi Simcha Scholar, executive vice president of Chai Lifeline, has been named to Algemeiner’s “J100” list of the top 100 individuals who have positively influenced Jewish life in 2018.

Rabbi Scholar is recognized on behalf of his efforts leading Chai Lifeline, the international children’s health support network which provides emotional, social, and financial support to children with life-threatening or lifelong illnesses and their families, since its founding in 1987.

The Algemeiner unveiled its 5th annual “J100” list on Thursday night, September 13, at a star-studded gala in New York City. High-profile attendees included Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat and philanthropists Ira and Ingeborg Rennert, along with many other notable community and industry leaders.

Past honorees and participants in the annual event have included media mogul Rupert Murdoch, the late Nobel Peace Prize laureate Elie Wiesel, President Donald Trump, and Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein, among others.

“Chai Lifeline’s mission is to alleviate the emotional, social, and financial challenges facing families living with pediatric illness and to help patients, parents, and siblings to live full lives as they fight the devastating impact of pediatric illness,” said Rabbi Scholar. “This award is a reflection of the hard work our dedicated staff and thousands of volunteers worldwide, as well as the tens of thousands of supporters who believe in our mission.”
