Simchy Goldstein's Personal Page

Last summer I set out to accomplish something that I myself didn’t think I really could. After many hours of training and hard work, I completed the Bike4Chai ride! Toward the end of the ride last year, feeling completely fatigued and mentally exhausted, I can remember thinking how challenging this was and that I was glad to have done it, but would let some else do it next year. This silly notion quickly dissipated as we as one group made the right turn into Camp Simcha!

This is truly an amazing place, and while we heard how the riders were an inspiration to the staff, there was no greater inspiration to me at that time and from that moment began counting down the days until I could do it again!

That’s why this summer, I will ONCE AGAIN bike 150 miles from the Jersey Shore to Camp Simcha, an extraordinary overnight camp that gives children with cancer a vacation from sickness that restores their spirits and renews their determination to fight illness.

The ride won’t be easy, but neither is life for a child with cancer or other serious illness. Camp Simcha and its sister camp, Camp Simcha Special, are the organization’s flagship programs. Every year these two camps offer 430 children a chance to forget about illness and just be kids again. (To learn more about Camp Simcha and Camp Simcha special, visit www.campsimcha.org.)

This will be especially meaningful to me as this year the ride begins ON MY 42nd BIRTHDAY!!!

I will be biking to camp on Wednesday and Thursday Aug. 8rd & 9th. My objective is to raise more than the minimum $3,600 by then and I hope you will help me reach this goal. All donations are 100% tax-deductible.

Please contribute by clicking on the donate button now.

Thank you for supporting me, and in doing so, helping children and their families cope with the diagnosis, treatment, and aftermath of serious pediatric illness.

Best regards,
Sim
