This is my first Yr riding a big boys bike its been about 3 months now since i started and as of today my longest ride has been just under 50 miles witch took me around 3 hrs with an average speed of 14mph. My speed has picked up from 14 to around 17 mph. I just got a cadence item for my bike and click ins so I\'m hopping that the shows will make a difference in my ride. the cadence item I\'m hoping will allow me to train my self to keep pedeling and maybe pick up my average speed.
So with that this summer, I will bike 150 miles from the Jersey Shore to Camp Simcha, an extraordinary overnight camp that gives children with cancer a vacation from sickness that restores their spirits and renews their determination to fight illness.
The ride won´t be easy, ( for me anyways ) but neither is life for a child with cancer or other serious illness. Camp Simcha and its sister camp, Camp Simcha Special, are the organization´s flagship programs. Every year these two camps offer 430 children a chance to forget about illness and just be kids again. (To learn more about Camp Simcha and Camp Simcha special, visit www.campsimcha.org.)
I will be biking to camp on Wednesday and Thursday Aug. 8th & 9th. My objective is to raise $3,600 by then and I hope you will help me reach this goal. All donations are 100% tax-deductible.
Please contribute by clicking on the donate button now.
Thank you for supporting me, and in doing so, helping children and their families cope with the diagnosis, treatment, and aftermath of serious pediatric illness.
Best regards,
