Swim-a-thon
What is Swim-A-Thon?
Swim-A-Thon is a program where you can raise money for Camp Simcha and Camp Simcha Special. The amount you raise is based on the number of laps you can swim or walk on your camp’s designated Swim-A-Thon Day. You raise money by recruiting sponsors who pledge a certain amount of money for each lap you swim or walk on Swim-A-Thon Day. For example, if a sponsor pledges $1.00 for each lap you swim or walk and you swim/walk 20 laps, the sponsor will make a $20.00 donation to Chai Lifeline/Camp Simcha. After the event, you collect the money and turn it over to the person in charge of the Swim-A-Thon program at your camp.
How will the sponsor know how many laps I was able to swim?
Your counselor or lifeguard will verify the number of laps you swam.
What if I can’t swim? Can I still participate in the program?
Yes, you can. Swim-A-Thon is open to any kid who wants to join. If you can’t swim, you can walk back and forth across the shallow end of the pool.
Must I swim the length or the width of the pool?
Either one is fine.
Jump-a-thon
What is Jump-A-Thon?
Jump-A-Thon is a program where you can raise money for Camp Simcha and Camp Simcha Special. The amount you raise is based on how many consecutive jumps you jump on your camp’s designated Jump-A-Thon Day. You raise money by recruiting sponsors who pledge a certain amount of money for each of your jumps. For example, if a sponsor pledges $1.00 for each jump and you jump 20 times, the sponsor will make a $20.00 donation to Chai Lifeline/Camp Simcha. After the event, you collect the money and turn it over to the person in charge of the Jump-A-Thon program at your camp.
How will the sponsor know how many times I was able to jump?
Your counselor will verify the number of times you jumped. Have him/her sign in the appropriate place on the other side of this envelope.
Bowl-a-thon
What is Bowl-A-Thon?
Bowl-A-Thon is a program where you can raise money for Camp Simcha and Camp Simcha Special. The amount you raise is based on how many points you score on your camp’s designated Bowl-A-Thon Day. Here’s how it works: You raise money by recruiting sponsors who pledge a certain amount of money for each of your points. For example, if a sponsor pledges $1.00 for each point and you score 20 points, the sponsor will make a $20.00 donation to Chai Lifeline/Camp Simcha. After the event, you collect the money and turn it over to the person in charge of the Bowl-A-Thon program at your camp.
How will the sponsor know how many points I was able to score?
