Chai Lifeline Helps...
When a child is diagnosed with a serious illness, the entire family feels the pain. Chai Lifeline provides crucial emotional, social and financial help that enables the family to cope with the stresses and long-term repercussions of life-threatening or serious chronic illnesses.
Families turn to Chai Lifeline Midwest, located in Lincolnwood, IL, for access to more than two-dozen, year-round, programs and services, all free of charge and delivered with love and respect. Chai Lifeline Midwest is a leader in creating and supporting programs and projects that bring joy to families’ lives and hope to all. The Hartman Family Foundation Wish at the Wall sends a group of post-treatment adolescents and a parent on a life-altering journey to Israel. The Joan and Shael Bellows Family Day is a model of fun and memory-making for regions across the country. MY Kids, in memory of Miriam Yocheved Isenberg, is a haven of support for children caught in the nightmare of a parent’s illness. Midwest families also find support and friendship at the Jennifer Levin Kaplan Purim Party and Leon Korol Chanukah Party. Every year Chai Lifeline Midwest sends a large contingent of children and teens to Camp Simcha, named in memory of Dr. Samuel Abraham, and Camp Simcha Special, named in memory of Zvi Dovid Obstfeld. These astounding overnight camping adventures are the only kosher camps in the world capable of meeting the medical and social needs of children with life-threatening or lifelong illnesses.
